In this six week, 4 lessons each week,  flex class we will cover the first unit in Pre-Algebra; Integers, Equations and Inequalities. This is a perfect course for a student that wants a jumpstart for the school year or is interested in an nonsynchronous class that they can attend to at their own pace. 

 I will release video taped lessons with formatted notes and practice sheets at the beginning of each week. Students are encouraged to post questions on the classroom and students and myself will address all questions in a collaborative forum. I will post a challenge problem mid week that the students can tackle together or submit individual solutions. The students can interact and engage at the level that they are comfortable with. I can be available to conference with students if necessary.

The content covered in the six week session will include:
Week one - Expressions and variables (day 1), powers and exponents (day 2), order of operations (day 3) and comparing and ordering integers (day 4)
Week two - Adding integers (day 1), Subtracting Integers (day 2), Multiplying and dividing Integers (day 3) and The coordinate plane (day 4)
Week three -  Mean, median, mode and range (day 1), Properties and operations (day 2), The distributive property (day 3), Simplifying variable expressions (day 4)
Week four - Variables and equations (day 1), Solving equations using addition and subtraction (day 2), Solving equations using multiplication and division (day 3) and Decimal operations and equations with decimals (day 4)
Week five - Solving two step equations (day 1), Solving equations having like terms and parentheses (day 2), solving equations with variables on both sides (day 3) and Rewriting equations and formulas (day 4)
Week six - Solving Inequalities using addition and subtraction (day 1), Solving Multi-step inequalities (day 2), Solving multi-step inequalities (day 3) and Solving compound inequalities (day 4).
