練習你的水彩技巧！

This class is designed for learners who are already familiar with painting with watercolor and would like to continue to paint together in a small group setting with instruction and support. We will review some basic techniques very briefly at the beginning of class (dry on dry,  dry on wet, wet on dry, wet on wet, masking, layering and mixing color, washes, etc.) before planning something to paint (could be a landscape, could be flowers, could be something of the learner's own interest) and beginning that painting. Learners may finish their piece during class or might want to continue after class ends -- either is OK!

We'll start with a background wash and then move into the general shapes of the painting before moving into final details. This class will be a combination of discussion and description and independent painting. My teaching style is fun and supportive; learners will be encouraged to use their imaginations and I will provide specific instruction as requested by the class -- for example, if learners want to practice different techniques or need tips & tricks. I encourage experimentation and creativity; there is no wrong way to paint! Some groups tend to be quiet groups who want to create, and some groups want to share what they know and like about painting. Both are OK for this class! 

Note: Learners do not have to have taken Let's Experiment With Watercolor: Basic Techniques to Try, Explore Watercolor: Experimental Watercolor Flowers, or Explore Watercolor: Paint Your Own Watercolor Landscape!  to have fun and enjoy this class, but they should be able to understand how watercolor works and independently hold a brush since this class will be less about step-by-step technique instruction of how to create the same style of painting together and more about getting inspired by the painting techniques and one another and creating work together.
