課堂經歷
In this class, we will learn how to hold the practice chanter, blow properly, and place the fingers correctly for the nine notes played on the practice chanter. We will learn how to read the notes in the treble clef, and begin work on a few tunes. In week one, we will focus on holding the chanter properly and blowing correctly. In week two, we will work on the nine notes played on the chanter. In week three, we will begin to learn a few tunes. In week four, we will review our progress, and troubleshoot any problems. For those who want to continue for another four weeks, we will begin to learn the grace notes, throws, and other fancy fingerings that make bagpipe tunes so unique. Students can also practice holding the bagpipes, if they already own them, and begin to learn about how they work, and how to care for them.

4. Students will learn their first tune.

Hi! I'm a mother and former public school special education teacher, currently just teaching music lessons (and, you know, going grocery shopping and those sorts of things). I studied piano and violin at Fresno Pacific University, played in the Baroque Ensemble there, and in the Fresno Lyric Opera orchestra. Since then, I have also learned to play the cello, classical guitar, recorder, and mandolin. My most recent musical interests have been bagpipes and harp. I'm enjoying learning Celtic music, which is part of the Scottish ancestry of part of our family.
My goal for students is that they would learn to love music. It's been such an important aspect of my life, something that comforts and inspires me, and that's what I'd like to see for students. With that in mind, I always try to be attentive to what music really interests the student, and make sure that we work on that as well as more routine lesson pieces. My background is in classical music, but I'm always happy to look up pop music pieces, movie themes, fiddle tunes, whatever a student wants to learn!
I love to introduce beginners to a new instrument, as well as join intermediate or advanced students on their learning journey!評論
