課堂經歷

This is a kids yoga series that welcomes all learning styles and abilities. The teacher will demonstrate each pose and offer assistance to guide student into the correct alignment. Each class will have time for relaxation, movement, and group discussion. Relaxation activities include guided meditations, progressive visualization stories, and breath work. Movement will include balancing, twisting, heart opening yoga poses and yoga inspired core movements to stretch and strengthen the body. This class will center around Sun Salutations and each week students will build a foundation and understanding of their yoga practice. 

This class is for all levels of experience and abilities. A mixture of mindful breathing and playful movements. Children should wear comfortable, unrestricted clothing. A yoga mat is nice, but not necessary to learn. The room should be clear of any objects that may become a hazard with children moving or jumping (ex. stepping on a lego in a pose does not feel good) Barefoot is best as socks can be slippery. Children should not eat a heavy meal within 30 minutes of class.

My name is Deneen, and my goal is to create a container that builds confidence in children’s minds, creates space in their hearts for themselves and others, and gives them the tools needed for relaxation in their bodies. I have taught yoga for over a decade and am currently pursuing a Master's of Social Work. I currently work in a trauma-informed environment offering mindfulness and anxiety regulation for individuals and group therapy.
