Get the popcorn popping! Students will be allowed to bring their favorite popcorn flavor to class and munch along as we read passages designed for a second grade level. This class will focus on students learning to comprehend what they read in a fun environment. Students will read a portion of the passage and the teacher will yell out popcorn and immediately pick another student to continue reading. Each student will be given an opportunity to read out loud. The goal is for students to become more comfortable reading out loud and participating in classroom discussions. Hopefully, students can become closer to achieving the ultimate goal of learning to comprehend what they read.
Students should print out the reading passage and bring something to write with.
