Nothing is more thrilling than writing an original play. It's all the fun of creative writing with the added thrill of getting to read it out loud with others....or just listening to others perform it for you. This class will lead young writers through a simple process to generate a three scene play in one act. Along the way, we will learn all about the critical components for effective theater. First meeting: We'll introduce ourselves and play some quick theater games to get to know each...
I've taught playwriting for over twenty years. I started with Playwrights' Project in San Diego and Los Angeles where I worked with students of all ages in the public schools as a guest artist. I also worked with San Diego Opera alongside a composer helping students write original works of musical theater. I've taught playwriting in settings as diverse as foster care facilities and ivy league colleges. Please read my complete bio, and let me know if you have any questions.

Students should expect to spend around an hour a week working on their play. A reasonable expectation would be a ten page play which translates to only a few pages per scene. Some may want to spend more time and write more; others will write quickly and need less time. It's really up to each student.0 - 1 每週課外時間
