This class is all about plankton, microscopic organisms within our ocean waters. Through an interactive presentation and class discussion, students will explore plankton's roll in the food chain and the health of our planet. We will cover topics such as the ability of some species to create bioluminescence and "Red Tide" and the affects these have on human life. Students can participate in a Plankton Design Challenge. Marine and environmental science have been passionate pursuits of mine since childhood. I feel that this passion, combined with my education, versatile teaching experience and inquiry-based approach to teaching these topics will spark student's curiosity.
