Picasso Inspired Pumpkins, Exploring Realistic VS Abstract Faces By the end of the art lesson, students will: 1. Understand the difference between realistic and abstract art. 2. Analyze how Pablo Picasso abstracted human features in his portraits. 3. Explore creative expression by transforming pumpkins into abstract Picasso-inspired faces. 4. Develop an appreciation for abstraction in art and its connection to personal expression. We will have 15 mins of learning time, followed by creating time. We will look at slides of Picasso's work and look at realistic faces as well. We will listen to classical music while the students use their imaginations to create their pumpkins. Students will then have the chance to share how it felt making a silly picture as well as, show off thier pumpkin.
