⭐️ What will be taught?


In this class, I will be working on peer interactions, This class is great for learners who needs support with developing their social skills. I will be using visuals aids such as visual boards, charts, and pictures which can be helpful for learners who may struggle with processing verbal instructions. Visuals can help them better understand and remember important information. There will be hands on activities which learners can benefit from hands-on learning activities such as sensory play or building structures. These activities can help them understand and retain information in a fun and engaging way. There will be interactive games in this class, this are great way to make learning fun. Educational games, such as puzzles, memory recall or trivia, can help them build skills while having fun.


The goal of this class is to help learners interact with their peers, I will teach topics that they should learn to effectively engage with their peers, regulate their emotions and build independent skills. I am also available to address specific concerns, such as more in depth topic for example: how to maintain person space boundaries/consent specific goals that learners may need more support. I have a wide range of experience helping autism learners to enhance their skills. The goal of all of my lessons is to make the learner feel great about what they have accomplished and ready to learn more. 

⭐️ What topics will you cover?

As I shared an example of my class syllabus, The exact topics taught in each lesson may differ depending on the age of the learner. One of the major requests I have received from parents in the past is to teach learners specific topic that they feel challenging for learner. In these lessons, the learner and I would engage in the topic, and as I identified their areas of weakness, we would work on those while keeping the learner engaged. 



⭐️ How is your class structured?


I use the full 30 minutes of my classes to promote and cultivate learning. Research indicates that taking little breaks improves memory retention and productivity, so I do offer my students a little mental break. Our first step will be to get to know one another. For younger students, we might sing a song, and I enjoy using vibrant, captivating images to help them remember what they have learned. This includes a conversation facilitated by each learner. At the conclusion of our class, we will engage in educational activities that help us produce the abilities we are concentrating on. I will send a progress report detailing all of the work completed during the lesson, including optional outside work, to caregivers after the lesson.


 

⭐️ How will you teach? 


I have a lot of energy when I'm teaching. I want them to find enjoyment in our activities. Working with kids of various ages and learning styles over the years has led me to adopt an approach that tries to teach without making them feel as though they are in an academic setting. It boosts motivation!
