This class will be about dogs and their interaction with humans to help influence history. During this 10-week class, students will meet queens, kings, emperors, soldiers, war dogs, one very well known psychiatrist, and many more. Now, did these dog companions truly change history? Maybe, maybe not, but they did influence their owners' lives, which may have affected history. Let's take a look, and you, the student, can be the judge. Students will get a better understanding of Counter-Factual reasoning concerning dogs in history. They will learn more about dogs and how they impact us every day. They will use philosophy to think about the history of dogs and humans, and with this new understanding, we will ask the abstract question, "If these people we learn about never had a dog in their life, would they still have made the same decision?"
