Learners will learn the parts of speech and how to identify them in sentences.  Exercises and homework will be comprised of practice using each part of speech learned the day it is assigned. Each Homework assignment is themed to make it more interesting. I can update the themes for older learners if requested. The current themes are designed to appeal to the widest possible age group. Each class is comprised of about 20 to 25 minutes of instruction and 25 to 30 minutes of practice. 

The first 55 minute class will be noun types. 20 minutes instruction 35 minute practicing nouns with Gimkit game. 

The second 55 minute class will cover verbs, verb phrases, infinitives, and gerunds. 10 minutes noun homework check, 20 minutes instruction on verbs, 25 minutes practicing with verbs via Gimkit game. 

The third class will cover pronouns (this class we learn subjects and objects so learners can easily identify subjective case and objective case pronouns.) 10 minutes verb homework check, 20 minutes instruction on pronouns, 25 minutes practicing with pronouns via Gimkit game. 

The fourth class will cover adjectives and adverbs. 10 minutes pronoun homework check, 20 minutes instruction on adjectives and adverbs, 25 minutes practicing with adjective and adverbs via Gimkit game. 

The fifth class will be over prepositions, interjections, and articles. 10 minutes adjectives and adverb homework check, 20 minutes instruction on prepositions etc., 25 minutes practicing with prepositions subject area via Gimkit game. 

The sixth class will be over conjunctions. 10 minutes preposition homework check, 20 minutes instruction on conjunctions, 25 minutes practicing with conjunctions  via Gimkit game. 

The final class will be allocated to re-teach any of the concepts at the learner's request, any missed instruction, confusing instruction, or grammar concepts not covered in the class. A final over all the parts of speech (grammar) will be the subject of the final Gimkit game session. 

Parents please note: The Gimkit game is much more than just fun. It is a type of worksheet. At the end of each game there is a report I can access that tells me how many questions the learner got right, how many they got wrong, and a percentage grade. I can see exactly how well the instruction of the day worked with each learner. 



Learner progress will be evaluated by completed homework. I give grades based on Homework completion, participation, and attendance if requested by the parent.
