Students will learn how an outline helps readers organize and focus their ideas. Students will learn the four components of creating outlines: subordination, coordination, division, and parallel structure. Students will "learn by doing" by completing a collaborative outline with the teacher and other students after looking at models of outlines.
Students will learn how to transition from brainstorming ideas and research into a structured outline that will help them to prepare to complete a written piece.
