課堂經歷
Join us as we experiment and explore! In this class we will conduct experiments, hands-on projects and make models that illustrate a diverse array of scientific principles. Physics, biology, chemistry, botany, oceanography, geology, and zoology will all come together as we sample experiments from each, utilizing household items and supplies. Each week we will discuss a new topic, from any of the fields mentioned above. Then we will explore the new concept with a hands-on experiment, project or model. Feel free to drop in and out as you please! The beginning schedule is as follows: Week of August 30-September 3: Windmill stem challenge Week of September 6-10: Make a mechanical hand Week of September 13-17: Make a solar oven Week of September 20-24:Heat rising with water bottles Week of September 27-October 1: Core sampling with clay Week of October 4-8: Make ice stalagmites Week of October 11-15:Explore density by layering liquids Week of October 18-22:Yeast and sugar blow up a balloon Week of October 25-29: Classify minerals

During my time working in Montessori schools I was given the opportunity to design and implement a summer camp program that integrated scientific and cultural exploration with hands-on projects. One of our camp sessions was a STEM camp that provided campers with an experiential opportunity to apply what they were learning about various scientific fields. It was a joy to teach and assist my students as they conquered these previously uncharted territories and I am only too happy to replicate that adventure here on Outschool. 評論
