In this ongoing class, we will work through one different "Bad Kitty" book per week. "Bad Kitty" is a series of funny graphic novels by Nick Bruell. You may join any week that you'd like! Ongoing classes do not build upon each other. For the first part of our club, we will discuss what we liked (or didn’t like) about the book and generally share our thoughts in a student-led manner. This class will work towards increasing social skills, comprehension, developing a deeper understanding around what they’ve read, learning from others' point of view, strengthening higher-order thinking skills, increasing vocabulary, writing skills, and building creativity.
I graduated from college with a degree in English with earned membership to Sigma Tau Delta (English Honor Society). I also completed my college's Honors program and thesis. I have read the entire Bad Kitty series with my own child multiple times and thoroughly enjoy every book! I can't wait to share the joy with other learners.

Your child should have the "Bad Kitty" books that we are discussing that week. If you child doesn't own them, borrowing from a friend or utilizing your public library are great ways to get them! For some activities, your child will need a pencil, drawing paper, glue, construction paper, and/or a notebook/lined writing paper. I will announce these ahead of time so that you will be prepared.

There are parts of the books where kitty is very angry and we see symbols that indicate this. In the adult world we may understand what this could mean, though kids often do not. We will be stating that Kitty was so angry she didn't even have words, etc.
