I encourage students to use the drawing, writing, or simple art craft they created to "retell" the story to a family member, pet, or favorite stuffed animal. This helps students retain the skills they learned and build confidence in their ability to learn.評估

Hi Learners! During story time I read a high-quality picture book, or two, stopping frequently to ask students questions and to have students do physical movements, if appropriate for the story, to keep them engaged. I also use silly voices and singing to make our time together enjoyable. Then we finish with a brief discussion about the story to make real-life connections to the story. This helps students practice responding to a story. This is a skill they will build on as they grow. Students learn about the structure of stories, character development, and practice describing the setting while having fun. Students who can discuss more, are given the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities, as well, because the small group setting allows me to cater to the abilities of each student.
