Hi Learners! During story time I read a high-quality picture book, or two, stopping frequently to ask students questions and to have students do physical movements, if appropriate for the story, to keep them engaged. I also use silly voices and singing to make our time together enjoyable. Then we finish with a brief discussion about the story to make real-life connections to the story. This helps students practice responding to a story. This is a skill they will build on as they grow....
Learning goals: During story time we discuss: ~beginning/middle/end of the story (plot) ~big problem (conflict) ~characters ~setting ~themes ~practice responding to stories by drawing, writing

I encourage students to use the drawing, writing, or simple art craft they created to "retell" the story to a family member, pet, or favorite stuffed animal. This helps students retain the skills they learned and build confidence in their ability to learn.提供的評估
