Formative assessments will guide teaching and learning, ensuring all learners are making progress and prepared for new learning. Self assessments ill be completed by each learner for metacognitive reflection on new learning. Pre- and Post- gamified assessments will provide data on whole group progress. Assessments are encouraged, not required, and will all be completed during class.評分

Emotional intelligence is a 21st Century Skill often overlooked in traditional school settings. This course is designed to set the stage for learners to navigate the BIG FEELINGS that accompany adolescence with a deepened understanding of the role of the human nervous system in guiding our behavior. We are not thinking beings who feel; we are feeling beings who think. This increased neuroawareness will fortify learners' ability to relate to themselves and others in prosocial, productive ways. Through guided inquiry and social constructivist learning experiences, students will engage in group discussions and activities exploring basic neuroanatomy. Students will increase their ability to identify their own nervous system states and develop strategies to resource themselves during moments of dysregulation.

Meet the Autonomic Nervous System!
This lesson will gauge learner's current understanding of their autonomic nervous system and provide neuroanatomical concepts and definitions necessary to connecting how our nervous system drives our learning and behavior. 55 分鐘線上直播課

How many emotions are there?
This lesson will determine which emotions learners can already identify, and then provide learners with over 80 emotions to explore. Through this, learners will "sort" emotions into different nervous system states. 55 分鐘線上直播課

What do feelings have to do with learning?
This session will include an exploration of how our brains construct new knowledge, and what impact our feelings can have on our learning. We'll look at where learning actually occurs, how to prepare ourselves for productive struggle, and what to do when we feel stuck in a learning journey. 55 分鐘線上直播課

My neurons and what they need
Learners will identify the circumstances, modalities, and relational needs required for their unique learning profile. We all build new knowledge in unique ways, and understanding what we need to learn best facilitates ongoing success in achieving individual life goals. 55 分鐘線上直播課
