In this one time course, the students will develop a mathematical way of thinking that will allow them to continue to learn and teach themselves about numbers in the future. 

Number Sense provides a time for students to learn how to count, order numbers, identify groups of items, compare numbers, and build/use numbers independently. Counting can be so much fun especially when we understand numbers. In this course, the students will practice counting. They will also be given an opportunity to participate in number circles, where they will learn to to count from any given number. After looking at several numbers, students will learn how to order numbers from smallest to largest. They will also learn how to compare numbers while putting them in sequential order.  Allowing students to participate in activities of this nature will increase their number sense awareness, which will help build a solid math foundation. This course will be taught using a variety of methods such as videos, slides, children's literature, music, and and other interactive learning methods. As an educator, I have a flexible teaching style because I strive to address all learning styles so that all learners are successful. 

There isn't any required experience for this class. Just prepare to learn and have fun with numbers!
