課堂經歷

In this 12 week class, students will learn the different kinds of dinosaurs and some key facts about each one. For example, which family did they belong to, where did they live, height, weight, length, diet, and period in which they lived.

An example of the weekly plan will include:

Week 1: Velociraptor, Utahraptor, Diplodocus
Week 2: Trooden, Triceratops, Kentrosaurus
Week 3: Torosaurus, Styracosaurus, Oviraptor
Week 4: Protoceratops, Pteranodon, Pachycephalosaurus
Week 5: Ankylosaurus, Archelon, Wuerhosaurus
Week 6: Brachiosaurus, Struthiomimus, Carnotaurus
Week 7: Chasmoaurus, Spinosaurus, Corythosaurus
Week 8: Dimetrodon, Edmontonia, Gallimimus
Week 9: Iguanodon, Megalosaurus, Pachyrhinosaurus, Mosasaurus
Week 10: Stegosaurus, Tyrannosaurus Rex, Baryonyx
Week 11: Allosaurus, Archaeopteryx, Ceratosaurus
Week 12: Students will present their final project and discuss

Students will receive information prior to class on which dinosaurs we will be visiting. Each student can then research information they find interesting and/or important to bring to class.

This class will be interactive as each student has the ability to discover information about each dinosaurs and share the information with the other classmates. In fact, it is encouraged for each student to bring a discovery to class. When each student is allowed a voice, in addition to the teacher, the wealth of information can be great. This will be an exciting adventure.

I like to be a hands-on-to-learning teacher. This class is not about the teacher. The students are the focus and will guide the course. The teacher is just the facilitator. For this class, there is no prior knowledge required to attend this class.

Possible external sources could include Nearpod for lesson content, unlisted YouTube videos from the teacher, Flipgrid for interactive video assignments, Kahoot for quizzes, Activity Learn for assignments, etc. Students are not required to have accounts. They will be provided links and then we'll complete the tasks. These tasks are for the lesson, comprehension, and interaction.

The students will be required to write a paragraph about what they learned after each class. The paragraphs will be uploaded in the classroom tab. We will use different methods of interaction between the student and the teacher. These methods will include Nearpod, Google Docs, and other relatable resources that would be beneficial each week. For example, students will be able to upload their weekly writing with Google Docs, copy & paste, or Microsoft Word and the teacher can help with revisions, ideas, grammar, spelling, comments, etc. Another example would be using Nearpod where students can complete polls (for example: Have you been so excited that you wanted to shout it from the roof-tops?), quizzes, and slides to interact with the teacher. This class is built strong interactions between students and the teacher. The teacher will upload content into the classroom At least three times per week. The student will have access to communication with the teacher at least three times per week, Monday through Friday.

Hello. My name is Teacher Tanya.

Greetings,

I am Teacher Tanya, a dedicated educator with a rich personal and professional background.

In my personal life, I fulfill roles as a devoted wife, a mother to nine children, a grandmother to sixteen grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Teaching, reading, and traveling in my RV are my passions.

Central to my philosophy is the belief that continuous learning is essential for personal growth. I advocate for acquiring new knowledge daily to enrich our lives. As an educator, I employ the 5 E's approach—Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, and Evaluate—while also emphasizing the importance of "Extend" in teaching.

Regarding my education and experience, I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Child Development and have pursued extensive coursework towards a Master's Degree in Education: Curriculum and Instruction. Additionally, I possess a Master's Degree in Business Administration. Call me crazy, but I am currently working on a Doctorate is Education: Organizational Leadership.

With fifteen years of experience owning and operating state-licensed and accredited preschool, childcare, and school-age centers, I have a solid foundation in education. I have, also, served as a substitute teacher for middle and high school students, including fulfilling long-term positions in core academic subjects.

Having dedicated over 25 years to working with children in both classroom settings and extracurricular activities, I have taught a diverse range of subjects such as English, Reading, History, Math, Science, and ESL, to students with diverse abilities.

I appreciate your time in reviewing my profile and consider it an honor. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to meet your child and your family.

Thank you.
