Welcome to class! Sometimes our emotions can be stronger than we want. It can be difficult to understand them. Let's learn all about those emotions. This is a beginning / intro class to learning our emotions. We will discuss cool down methods and why we feel a certain way. This class will leave you with the building blocks to grow and work on your emotional control. Remember, practice makes perfect. It’s encouraged to practice these methods beyond our class time to see long lasting effects. In this class, we will learn about our emotions. What are they, what causes them, how can we calm down after a strong emotion. Sometimes understanding our emotions and why they happen will help us prevent experiencing a strong or aggressive emotion. Schedule: Week 1: Emotional Vocabulary - What are my emotions? Week 2: Emotions are like the Weather Week 3: Emotional Body Language - What do Our Emotions Look Like? Week 4: Emotions are like Colors Week 5: Let's Cool Down - Ways to Calm Down or Avoid Strong and Aggressive Emotions Week 6: A Deeper Look at Angry and Mad Week 7: Let's Review and Practice Why Take This Course: Miss Danielle is a special needs teacher with an emphasis on Autism Support and Emotional and Behavioral Support. She has spent a lot of her teaching experience working with young students who struggle with displaying their emotions. This course was developed based on scientific methods used to help young students understand and improve on their strong emotions. Every activity is fun and engaging so students will have fun while learning all about their emotions.
