In this one-time class, we will explore one of the most kid-friendly pieces of classical music—the “Carnival of the animals” 🐵🦁🐻🐯🐣🦆🐤🐰musical suite by Camille Saint-Saens. We will find out who the composer is, and about his life, as well as how he came up with the idea to write this musical suite. We will then explore the most famous excerpts from the suite in detail: we will talk about 🦁🦁🦁which instruments are used to represent the animals 🐻🐻🐻what those instruments look like and how they...
Students can expect to gain general knowledge of the “Carnival of the animals” suite, as well as knowledge of the composer. They will also learn about different orchestral instrument, and different music techniques to “Paint” with sound.
