每週 1-2 小時. Students will be given homework each week after class and we will review homework as a group in the next class. Additionally, students will frequently have the chance to discuss questions about their musical compositions, so students may want to spend some time working on these over the duration of the course.我們無法翻譯此文,請刷新頁面並再試一次。
課堂經歷
In this class, students will dive deeper into music theory to learn more about how music works and make more sophisticated musical compositions. This course is structured to the expand past "Music Theory With Dr. Bliss: Semester 2" for learners to learn about diatonic triads in major and minor scales, diatonic 7th chords in major and minor, principles of voice leading, closed and open chord structure and voicing, and parallel fifths and octaves in part-writing. Students taking this course should have taken "Music Theory With Dr. Amy: Semester 2" or go to the course listing to make sure they are familiar with the concepts covered in that class. If you have any questions about which semester is right, please reach out and I'll answer any questions. Week One: Review We will make sure all students are comfortable with the concepts covered in Music Theory With Dr. Amy: Semester 1. We will talk about major, minor, augmented and diminished chords, chord inversions of triads and seventh chords, and discuss lead sheet symbols versus classical music theory symbols. I will supply students with any worksheets needed from Music Theory With Dr. Amy: Semester 2 that they may need for review. Week Two: Diatonic Triads in a Major Scale We will do any more needed review and introduce the diatonic chords of the major scale and begin to discuss primary chords how they function within the major tonality. Any extra time in class from this point on will be spent working on melodic and rhythmic dictation, interval games, and student compositions in a masterclass style to practice new concepts.
