音樂學院：私人聲樂課程

Music Academy: Private Voice Lessons are a great place for you to learn to sing and read music.  Whether you are just beginning, wanting to improve, or working on intermediate repertoire, you will find support to reach your goals in this private class.  I will craft a individualized approach based on the way that you learn and your goals to help you grow in your confidence, skills, musicianship and knowledge.  We will use a combination of techniques to learn to sing.  I will help you learn to sing, read music, and understand what you are singing along the way.  We will focus on finding meaningful experiences so that you enjoy your learning journey.  I am a very supportive, encouraging teacher, and work to find ways for my students to enjoy their time and feel comfortable as they learn.  

Here are some topics we can discuss and practice in our lessons:
- singing with supportive breath
- gently stretching your vocal range
- matching pitches and echoing phrases
- singing different dynamic levels (volumes)
- reading music on the treble staff
- skill-builders like patterns and scales
- understanding the patterns and features you hear in music

We can use music and learning materials that you already have, you can use music that I provide, or I can suggest materials to purchase.  I also have some digital materials that I may use to enrich your learning journey.  Links to access those materials will be shared in the classroom site.  You will not need to create an account or log in to the music publisher's website to access those songs.  

About me:
In 30 years of teaching music in private lessons and public elementary schools, the most incredible moments for me have occurred when students enjoyed learning the music and felt positive personal connections.  This is what I hope to bring to the many young people learning from home or hoping for more meaningful music experiences.  I am positive, upbeat, and relaxed, and invite students to join in as they feel comfortable.
