In this one time class, students will love learning how to subtract numbers 1-25 using M&M's! Students will be introduced to a strategy they can use to solve subtraction word problems. The teacher will work through an example problem with the class using the strategy and then show the answer. Students will then work through word problems individually and hold up a paper with the equation and answer they got. When incorrect answers occur, the teacher will go over the question with the...

Learners will need: -25 M&M's (or another food if there is an allergy or dislike) -Paper -Pencil Note: If students do not like M&M's or cannot eat them, they may choose something they do enjoy eating instead.
