Class Experience

US Grade 4 - 7
Beginner Level
Multiplication and division go hand in hand and building the connection between the two is an essential foundational math skill. If your child has worked hard to master their multiplication facts, but they are intimidated by even the thought of division, this class is the perfect place to start!

We will follow a scaffolded approach involving the following:

1. An introduction to the concept of division and a quick review of multiplication facts
2. Practice using the concept of fact families to relate multiplication and division
3. Solving division facts using multiplication

⭐Students should have a basic foundation of multiplication facts before taking this class.

How it works: 🔍

📽️This is a self-paced class which means there are NO LIVE lessons. 📽️

Each lesson will include 1 video and simple follow-up activities including a virtual game and/or a Kahoot quiz for practice. Check out the syllabus for a detailed overview of each lesson.

The self-paced class format allows students to work at their own pace and review lessons whenever needed.

I welcome questions from parents and students along the way. I'm always happy to provide support if your child is having difficulty with a lesson or activity.

This is an area that I had difficulty with as a child, and I really wish someone had used this approach with me. I have had much success with students who lacked the confidence and skills to be successful with multiplication and division. This approach is especially helpful for students who have a learning disability in math such as dyscalculia, or a language learning disability such as dyslexia.
