I will begin the lesson by reading The Next Time You See the Moon by Emily Morgan. Then, we will watch a YouTube video, Moon Phases: Next, I will hold up a picture of each phase along with its correct name. Students will discuss what they notice about each phase. Then we will label and make each phase of the moon using Oreo cookies. Finally, students will mix them up and correctly match the label and phase of the moon. Students will share their moon phases with each other and will discuss what they learned about moon phases.
