In this 8-day course, children will be introduced to all of the phonetic letter sounds. For the first 6 days, we will be focusing on 4-5 letters a day and doing quick reviews of the previous letters that we learned. For the last 2 days of the course, we will be reviewing all of the letter sounds to ensure that the children remember all of them. If there is a letter sound that the children are struggling with, we will focus on that letter more. The children will not only learn how to identify and say each phonetic letter sound, but they will also be matching them to pictures of objects that start with each of the phonetic letter sounds. For example, they will match /c/ to the picture of the cat. I find using pictures to match the words to, helps the children stay engaged and they get excited when they get them correct. You have to admit... everything is way more fun when there are pictures involved!

Week 5: g, k, u, v
Week 6: q, x, y, z
Week 7: Review
Week 8: Review & reading 3-letter words
