Students will practice counting dollars and coins using 100's, 25's, 10's, 5's, and 1's. Lesson 5: 💰Making Change From Totals Greater Than $1.00💰 Students will use subtraction or **counting on to make change from $2.00, $3.00, $4.00, or $5.00. **“Counting on” means to start with the item’s price, then count up to the amount paid with to find the difference. For example, if the price of the item is $2.35, and the purchase is being made with $5.00, we will count on from $2.35 to $3.00 to find the difference of 65 cents, and then from $3.00 to $5.00 to find the difference of $2.00 to see the change needed would be $2.65. 🔴P L E A S E N O T E 🔴 : 🔻Students should have background knowledge in pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, $1.00, and $5.00 bills and counting them.
