In this class we will read through the book "Mockingjay" by Suzanne Collins. This is the third book in the Hunger Games series. This class is open to students who have never read this book and students who may have read the book previously but would like to re-read it in a book club setting. This is the last book in the series so students should have previously read "The Hunger Games" and "Catching Fire" before taking this class and reading "Mockingjay." Students will engage in book group discussions each week. Through these discussions we will work on comprehension skills, analyzing the characters and their actions, making connections, discussing the author's purpose for including different events and characters in the book, and comparing and contrasting different characters and events.
I am a licensed school librarian with a love of dystopian young adult books! I have lead book groups and discussions with students across a wide variety of age groups.

Students are expected to have the reading complete before each class period. There will be 4 or 5 chapters for the students to finish reading before each class. See the class description for a breakdown of the chapters to be read for each class. Please have chapters 1-4 of "Mockingjay" read before our first class meeting.2 - 4 每週課外時間
