課堂經歷

In this one-time class, learners will discuss what mindfulness is, and will learn and practice several helpful mindfulness techniques, to help them relax, focus on the present, and to be able to calm their minds and bodies. This class is perfect for children who struggle with feelings of anxiety, stress, or with hyperactivity/impulsivity.

Included in this class will be:
-Several Deep Breathing Exercises
-Relaxation Practices
-Mindfulness Techniques (Focused on Bringing Awareness to the Present)

During the last 10 minutes of class, each learner will have the chance to create their own calming glitter jar! (Supplies needed are listed below. If your learner chooses not to create a glitter jar, they are still welcome to join the class and learn lots of other helpful tips and strategies!).

The class will be structured, yet relaxed, with time for teacher instruction, learner application of skills, as well as some discussion.  While practicing our relaxation and mindfulness exercises, learners will all benefit most by using this time to quietly reflect and practice their skills, without conversations.  However, before and after these exercises, questions and group conversation are always welcomed! 

Depending on the number of students in the class, some classes may run over on the time  by a few minutes. If your child needs to leave class at the exact scheduled end time, that's perfectly fine! In that case, they can watch the class re-play and create the calming glitter jar on their own time.

No prior knowledge or experience needed! Learners should just come prepared to have fun, while learning to focus and relax. I can't wait to meet your child in class!

Depending on the age of the child, some parental assistance may be needed, to create the calming glitter jar.
供應清單
*Mason Jar or Plastic Water Bottle (Recommended, especially for younger children)
*Warm Tap Water or Distilled Water (Students can simply use water from the sink, though distilled water will keep the jar mold-free and lasting longer)
*Glitter Glue (Optional, for better results)
*Glitter (Amount Varies, but should use at least several tablespoons)
*Food Coloring (Optional, for better results)
*Glue (Optional to better seal the jar/bottle/container)
*Funnel (Optional, to help get materials into bottle or jar)
**May use glitter, glitter glue, or a combination of both. I prefer to use both, but either will work. If using one or the other, glitter glue alone creates less of a mess and will create a better appearance/consistency than glitter alone
