This is the second semester class that follows Middle School Earth Science-Semester 1. In this class, students will continue studying the Earth, the rocks, the weather, it's oceans and stars....this is Earth Science! In this 15-week class for the fall semester, students will meet once a week and will also be expected to complete homework at home. Students will be able to explore through lecture, experiments, demonstrations, homework, and discussion the five fields of Earth Science....astronomy, geology, environmental science, meteorology, and oceanography.
I was a middle school science teacher for 10 years. I have also homeschooled and graduated my daughter for 10 years. As a public school teacher, I taught Earth Science, Chemistry, Physical Science, Zoology, Biology, and more to hundreds of students. Science is a passion of mine and I find performing experiments both fascinating and illuminating when learning new scientific facts! In this class, students will have ample opportunity to perform their own experiments to reiterate the information they learn in class. I have my Bachelor's degree in Biology/Pre-Med and a Master's in Healthcare Administration.

Homework is assigned each week at the end of class. Homework will be posted in the classroom. Please allow 1-2 hours for homework each week. Homework consists of home experiments as well as occasional worksheets.1 - 2 每週課外時間

A letter grade will be given for each homework assignment that is uploaded. The parent will receive a teacher feedback report on the student's progress at the end of the course.提供的成績
A letter grade will be given for each homework assignment turned in. Grades and homework are not mandatory but will be given upon request or when work is turned in. A semester grade can be requested by parent/guardian.
Activities are not mandatory and can be adapted to fit the needs of each individual learner. Notes and homework can be digitally manipulated if student prefers, graded or not, no reading out loud in class.

All experiments utilize household materials. Some experiments may be messy. Please read homework beforehand to determine if experiments need to be performed outside to save the house from a mess :-)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
