Knowledge of multiplication and division facts are necessary to learn multiplying and dividing fractions. Lectures will start with simplifying and reducing fractions, a necessary skill applied to all other fractions concepts. With student willingness and extra time, the same concepts will be applied to mixed numbers and conversions like improper fractions to mixed numbers and vice versa. Improvements can be made in about a month. Fractions lead to greater things like decimals, percents, pre-algebra, Algebra I, and geometry, and Algebra II.

Classwork and homework ensure student success, so progress will not be made without doing them. That is because practice or repetition is what cements the knowledge in the learner’s memory. In class, prompts and direction are given. Distractions between class meetings may lead to forgetfulness. When doing the homework later in the day or the next day, the notes taken in class will be invaluable.

Worksheets will be provided for all work. Lectures will include examples and allow for comments or questions, which the silly but serious teacher welcomes at any point in the course. Assignments will be reviewed to ensure understanding of the subject.
