In this ongoing class, I will walk students through the basics of Algebra 1 skills such as expressions, order of operations, adding rational numbers, add/subtract/multiply/divide rational numbers, the distributive property, combining like terms and percent of change. I will demonstrate the steps needed to solve the problem and have the students watch. Then the students will work through several problems with me and be encouraged to talk me through solving the problems. After this, students...
By the end of the course, learners will be able to solve problems to prepare for Algebra 1.
I'm a certified math teacher and have taught middle school math for 8 years. I've worked with students who have learning disabilities as well as students who are gifted.
paper, pencil, calculator and a good attitude :)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
