Everyone can learn math! During this live video chat, students will interact with both the teacher and other students to solve addition, subtraction, multiplication and division problems. Students will develop mental math strategies to solve addition, subtraction, multiplication and division problems. Strategies include friendly numbers, doubling and halving, breaking numbers into place value, adding up, adjusting numbers, partial products/quotients, multiplying up, and proportional reasoning.
I am very passionate about the importance of building a positive math mindset in learners of all ages. I have watched many students build a solid math foundation and develop a love of math through participating in math talks.
