This class will cover foundational and advanced math skills aligned with Oklahoma State Standards for grades 3–6. Topics will include place value, operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division), fractions, decimals, geometry, measurement, and data interpretation. Students will build confidence and prepare for standardized assessments in a fun, interactive environment. Each week, we will focus on specific topics, such as understanding place value, mastering operations, exploring fractions and decimals, and solving real-world problems involving geometry and measurement. Through engaging activities, students will enhance their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. This class meets twice weekly over eight weeks, with each session lasting 50 minutes. Each session follows a consistent structure: Warm-Up: Interactive game or problem-solving challenge to activate prior knowledge. Instruction: Clear explanations of the week's topic using slides, examples, and models. Guided Practice: Collaborative problem-solving as a group. Independent Practice: Individual or small group activities to reinforce skills. Wrap-Up: Review of key concepts and a sneak peek at the next lesson. How will you teach? This class will utilize a variety of teaching methods, including slides, manipulatives, video demonstrations, and interactive activities. Games, discussions, and real-world examples will help keep students engaged and make learning enjoyable. My teaching style is supportive, engaging, and student-centered. I encourage active participation, collaboration, and questions. I tailor instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners and celebrate progress along the way.
