Students will improve their geometry skills and understanding of polygons while at the same time learning about famous artist, Pablo Picasso and his use of geometric figures in some of his works. They will use their understanding of what polygons are to create artwork which will reflect their understanding of some of Picasso's Cubist style. 

Integrating the arts with other subject matter helps improve students' comprehension and understanding of the subject, especially students with an artistic bent. Seeing how math is used in many ways can help struggling students come to an understanding and even begin to enjoy the subject. 

I founded and operated a small private school with an arts-integrated curriculum. I've seen the enjoyment this way of teaching has brought to some students. I love teaching this way!
