I love helping kids understand how to add and subtract positive and negative numbers. Integers can sometimes be confusing, but I have a little poem to help, and I like to draw pictures to help explain how the numbers work while we have our conversations. (Judgement-free zone for my drawings.) Students might be asked to reply in the comments on Zoom or to interact with me on the Zoom whiteboard. I use a deck of cards to aide in our discovery and relate integers to real-life situations. I like to check in with the kids during our sessions to gauge their level of understanding as we work. I am a fan of having cameras on, if possible, to use facial expressions as cues for their understanding. *Note that missed classes are not within the parameters of Outschool's refund policy. Greetings! I’m Mrs. Faciana. You can also call me Mrs. Faci or Mrs. F. I will be leading a variety of sessions for children: typing, math, writing, coding, and more! I was in the classroom for 15 years, and I have been a private tutor since college (a long time ago) and a private math tutor full time since June 2022. I love the small ratios and the opportunities to see immediate light bulb moments and have the ability to adjust lessons on the spot to benefit the learner(s). I’ve been so happy to know that the student and teacher can still feel a connection since my Zoom teaching experience began in March of 2020. Another fun fact is that I self published a children’s book in 2010. My doggy, Snickers, was the inspiration behind the rhyming book for early readers. I loved doing author visits to preschools and daycares, and I still love sharing my joy for writing with children!評論
