Each class will provide a structured, step-by-step approach to the writing process, guiding students from brainstorming and outlining to drafting, revising, and publishing. Through interactive lessons, examples, and peer discussions, students will develop their writing skills, creativity, and confidence as they learn how to craft compelling essays, stories, and persuasive pieces.

Course Structure:

Genre Focus: Each genre will be introduced and explored in-depth. You will learn the unique characteristics of narrative, descriptive, expository, persuasive, and opinion writing, with a strong emphasis on how to structure and develop each piece effectively.
Step-by-Step Process: We will break down the writing process into manageable steps: brainstorming, outlining, drafting, revising, and publishing. Each week, we will focus on one genre, guiding you through every step in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Pre-assessment and Post-assessment: At the start and end of the course, you will complete a short writing exercise to measure your growth and understanding of the writing process.

Support: Outside of class, I will provide feedback on your drafts, offer individualized suggestions for improvement, and answer any questions you may have.
