(For students who have Math anxiety)

 I set up the chat in the class for private. So students can answer questions in the chat and only I get to see the answers.I do not call on anyone to answer questions in front of the class, I simply write an exercise on the whiteboard and encourage all to answer via the chat, again in private and I give you private feedback. This lowers the anxiety level a ton. :)




This is a follow up to Mastering PreAlgebra And Algebra Essentials. The  way I teach this skill is very easy to learn and your child will be prepared for success in Algebra.
I will show students how to do an exercise on the white board. They will learn  by actually doing example exercises during class. I will repeat with another exercise and will explain as many times as needed until the students are ready to do the exercises by themselves. Once started, I will check their answers for accuracy and follow up with any necessary explanations. I encourage all participants to try as many exercises as possible. I follow up the class with an upload of homework with the solutions.

The course breakdown is as follows:

Week 1: Solving equations  by addition and subtraction:  X+1 = -2 , X - 1 = -5
Week 2:  Solving equations by  division:  -2X = -8
Week 3: Distributive property + equations: 3(X-5) - 4(X+4) = 0
Week 4:Solving equations with two sides, and inequalities :  - 3(X-5) >  -4(X+4) 
Week 5: Advanced equations: 3(X-5) - 4(X+4) = 5 +  2X - 8(X - 7)
Week 6: Same as week 5, but with fractions.
Week 7: The zero product property: (x-5)(x+6)(x-1)= 0
Week 8: Introduction to  basic factoring: 2X-8 becomes 2(X-4)
