🚨**NOTE: this is a self-paced schedule class, so there are NO scheduled live meetings. There will be pre-recorded videos and weekly activities. In this 4-week long class, students will go through the process of writing an informative essay on the importance of water on earth. We will walk through reading articles, writing an introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusions. We will walk through the five step writing process and write a full essay over the course of this class. Students will spend 1-2 hours weekly for four weeks to watch the videos and work on their essay. The videos are about 8-15 minutes and then students will write a certain part of their essay each week. By the end of the four weeks they will have completed their whole essay. I also believe that students need to have a structure to write from to really master the art of essay writing. I also have lots of experience with students with a number of different abilities and neurodiverse students. I have experience with blind students, autistic students, students with ADHD, etc. If your student needs any accommodations to make this class more accessible for them please feel free to reach out and I will make these accommodations to the best of my ability.

What is an Informative Essay? Prewriting.
In this lesson, we will cover what an informative essay is. We will also go through the prewriting activities of doing research and brainstorming or outlining our essay.
課 2:
Introduction to an Informative Essay
In this lesson, students will learn how to write an introduction to an informative essay. This will include the H.O.T structure for writing and introduction. H.O.T stands for hook, overview, and thesis. Students will learn how to write all the steps of the introduction and will write the introduction to their paper.
課 3:
Body Paragraphs of an Informative Essay
In this lesson, students will learn how to write their body paragraphs justing the TBEAR structure. Students will write three body paragraphs for their essay. This is the longest section of writing students will do in this class.
課 4:
Conclusion to an Informative Essay
In this lesson, students will learn the steps of how to write a conclusion paragraph and will write their conclusion paragraph.

I have lots of experience with students with a number of different abilities and neurodiverse students. I have experience with blind students, autistic students, students with ADHD, etc. If your student needs accommodations let me know.
先決條件
Students need to be familiar with the concept of writing multi-paragraph essays. If they do not have a lot of experience with essay writing yet. I suggest either my mastering essay writing self-paced class or part 1 class.

Students will need a device to be able to watch the videos for the class. Students will also need something to write their essays on whether that is a word processing program on their computer or paper and pencil. They will need to send me their work for feedback.
