課堂經歷
Do you know what do you want for Christmas? How about what you want to give to or do for others this holiday season? In this one-time class, we'll make two lists: your personal list, and then a "top secret" list of loved ones and special holiday ideas for them. This class also gives the procrastinating learner an appointed place and time to get their lists written, with assistance and support. In a collaborative and fun manner, learners will: * Brainstorm ideas of things to ask for * Brainstorm nice things to do for others * Write a personal Christmas wish list * Write a list of holiday gifts and ideas for loved ones Grown-ups can help by providing a list of loved ones who should be remembered during the holiday season prior to class time. Learners should already know how to write, as they will write down ideas during class time. They will also need to bring paper and something to write with to class with them. While writing or if there is extra time, we will also play some Santa trivia, such as: Where does Santa live? What are the names of his reindeer? What does Santa like to say? What is Santa's favorite snack? What food item does Santa's belly look like when he laughs? How does Santa sneak into a house? How does Santa travel?
學習目標
Learners will get their holiday lists written in a fun and collaborative environment with other kids.

Belief in Santa may be helpful for this class. :)
供應清單
Learners will need to bring something to write with and may want to have crayons or colored pencils to decorate their lists. It is helpful to have a list of loved ones that they may want to include on their "top secret" gifting list. Two templates are provided in the welcome email: A "Wish List" and a "Top Secret Idea List." The Idea List contains blanks for up to four loved ones. Additional sheets may be printed and names pre-filled out prior to class to help your learner remember everyone.

Bringing the practical to the digital.
Hello. My name is Heidi. I've been homesteading for two decades, and homeschooling as long as I've had a school-age kid. I think that learning happens both intentionally and experientially, and there is something to be said for serious indoor study, as well as having fun and just exploring the world.
I have been taking care of the family farm for more than 20 years; tending garden, orchard, a timber stand, and raising dairy goats, chickens, and waterfowl. My family started and operates a goat milk soap business and my husband creates and carves with a CNC he built and programmed himself.
In the dark and rainy US Pacific Northwest winters, we find enough down time for video gaming. Raised around some of the early home computers, the first game I fell in love with was Boulder Dash on the Commodore 64 - and I've been gaming ever since. Some of my favorite games are Stardew Valley, Slime Rancher, and Core Keeper; but our family currently has an extensive library of more than 3,000 game titles. I love to talk and play games, and learn about new ones, too!
I've been teaching for more than ten years, with extensive experience both in the classroom and online platforms, with students ranging from kindergarten through grad school. I have taught at private schools, college campuses, and homeschool co-ops. I have also taught virtually in both the master's of education and doctorate of education programs at Concordia University Online. In fact, as of 2024, I have taught well over 4,000 live online classes, reaching more than 3,800 unique students.
So come learn with me, whether your classroom has four walls or no walls. Let's have fun with Outschool!
