What should we expect from this two time class? Day 1: -This is an introduction to macro photography. What is macro photography? We will look at macro photos I have taken with a variety of cameras and lenses. We will be introduced to equipment that can be used to make macro photos -We will introduce our project which will be due in class #2! Day 2: -We will have our kind critique. We will look at everyone's photos and share ideas (I will ask that students be ready to share their screens to...
A camera of some kind will be required for our project. I will be working with a professional digital camera, but students may use a smart phone or DSLR. I will be happy to answer any questions about the student's cameras. If using a DSLR, I would highly recommend (but not require) a lens that is made for macro photography. I am happy to offer suggestions (look for 1x1 magnification and a close focus range) For smart phone users, If you have a phone camera or an ipad, these very affordable lenses can be used to add some versatility to the cameras.
