Floor barre (Ballet Gymnastics) takes the basic ballet barre training from the standing position to the floor. Dancer, choreographer and ballet teacher Boris Knyazev (1900-1975) significantly contributed to the development of this technique. Taking this class is very important for beginners; it is a great add-on exercise for more advanced students. Actually anyone can benefit from this class since it develops core, improves posture, coordination and flexibility. It is not the easiest class, but very effective one. Exercises are adjusted to the students' level of physical development. During the class students will not only improve their skills, but will have better understanding of the mechanics of the dance steps. The floor provides perfect support and allows to perform the exercises correctly and find a better range of movement than standing up. Main goals: 1. Work on turn-out of the legs and feet 2. Understanding of pointing technique 3. Improve posture, back placement 4. Core workout - dancers need strong muscles and stamina 5. Improve Coordination
