In this three week class, students will learn all the basics on how to make a scarf using a knitting loom. Using a knitting loom is a fun and easy way to make a scarf, and any type of yarn can be used! Weekly plan: In week one, we will learn how to make a slip knot and how to load the yarn on the loom. We will start making our scarf. In week two, we will continue working on our scarves, troubleshooting along the way. In week three, we will continue working on our scarves and learn...
Students will learn how to make a scarf, using a knitting loom.
Mrs. Borton is an experienced knitting teacher, and has taught students to knit for over 20 years in the Knitting Club at her school. Mrs. B. has also taught in local craft stores to students of all ages.
Students will need the following supplies: 1. a rectangular knitting loom 2. a pick (usually comes with the loom) 3. yarn - Students may choose whatever yarn they want, but It is recommended that students use a smoother yarn to learn how to use the loom. A good size yarn for the knitting loom is size 5 yarn. 4. Scissors
