In this 3-session class, learners will improve their drawing/writing skills by creating a word with fancy lettering and decorating it. Session 1: We will look at, explore and draw several fancy types of letters, or "fonts." Students will select a positive word or their name or the name of someone who is important to them and begin practicing how to space out and draw the letters they have chosen. As a licensed art teacher, I have developed techniques for breaking down drawing lessons into simple, easy-to-follow steps. Once we get the basics done, I give my students freedom to complete their project using their own imagination, thereby giving them the opportunity to take what I have taught them to a different, fun and creative level.
Paper pencil, eraser, pencil sharpener fineline black marker (Micron pen or ultrathing Shaprie work well) colored pencils or fineline colored markers (Sharpie has a nice line of several colors, or Crayola fine markers)
