Using my guided drawing process, students will use simple lines, shapes and patterns to create their own stunning cardinals. This is the fourth class in my bird series, after the hummingbird class. We will examine the shapes and colors of cardinals, practice those shapes, and draw a cardinal, finishing it up with black Sharpies, colored pencils, and if the student chooses for the background, watercolor paint. Images of red cardinals (a google image search will bring LOTS of choices!) Print favorites, if possible. Good quality, 80# or higher drawing paper, or Bristol Board. Canson and Strathmore tablets are great, and can be purchased at Michaels where they are often on sale. 9X12 or 11X14 are good sizes. Pencils, sharpener, eraser Colored pencils or crayons (or both) black Sharpie watercolor paint, brush and water (optional)
