In this guided printmaking lesson, students will learn art vocabulary around printmaking and carving. I teach through: tell, show, do, feedback (a method I learned in my time with Starbucks, a long time ago) I find that students learn in a variety of ways (hearing, seeing and doing).  This practice allows every student to learn in their own unique way. I will teach the steps to creating a fun linoleum cut print from start to finish. Students may have time to add several color layers to their images, depending on the size of the class and each individual students art experience. Feedback is essential to artists ( and learners!), I love doing gallery walks where students can share their artwork and get praise and critiques from their peers (what they did well, what they can improve on etc).

We will cover printmaking tools, carving safety, linoleum cut prints, ink coverage and how to number/sign your prints.
This class doesn't require any previous printmaking experience. Because of the carving blades, parents may want to be present for safety reasons.
