In these ongoing, one to one classes your teen with autism or special needs will be taught important life skills to help them be successful in life and while out in the community.  Curriculum can be tailored to the specific needs, functioning level and language abilities  of your child.  Important life skills that can be taught include the following: 
1. Identifying safety and street signs
2. Sorting groceries- what belongs in the refrigerator
3. Grocery shopping- what aisle is the food in
4. Reading recipes and measuring ingredients 
5. Reading a menu and ordering in a restaurant 
6. Purchases- do you have enough money 
7. Hygiene and personal care 
8. Comparing prices 
9. Telling time and elapsed time 
10. Reading a calendar 
11. Doing the laundry and other chores 
12. What is an emergency…when to call 911
13. Using the telephone and appropriate phone conversations
