We are going to tap into creativity and learn about our own mental maps. All brains are unique and wonderful and knowing how ours visualize the world is a skill that we can take with us forever. No drawing experience is needed but Sketchnoting Levels 1 and 2 are encouraged. (NOT REQUIRED!) Class opens with Doodle Warm Up. From there, learners generate their own ideas about problem-solution scenarios that might require a series of steps or procedures. Discussion is encouraged as we ponder...
Students will learn to use visual thinking to solve problems (and more importantly) recognize their own conceptualization.
Class offered by an adult with ADHD who is trained to help offer support practices for future solution-makers: Training certification: SpEd: Disproportionality Georgia Professional Standards Committee 2007 - current; Differentiation and Student-Centered Classrooms Georgia Professional Standards Committee 2007 - current; OTHER: -Taught English Language Arts in a public high school in the United States for 15 years -I have won Teacher of the Year multiple times -I am currently certified with the National Council for Teacher of English -I am currently certified to teach English Language Arts Level T-7 (Highly Qualified) under the Georgia Professional Standards Commission from 2007 - 2022; certification to be renewed 2026 -I have a BS in English Education from Kennesaw State University -I have taught this material through the Johns Creek Student Leadership Council for three years to students from middle school (grade 6) to high school (grade up to 12) high school
Students need: 1. Something to write on 2. Something to write with 3. A working web cam to share sketchnotes
