In this one-time class, students will learn/review all the basics of writing a friendly letter.  We will go over what is needed for a heading, greeting, body, closing, and signature.

We will briefly talk about Valentine's Day and how we can use the day to show our appreciation for our loved ones and those who are important to us.

We will then turn our focus to writing a Valentine's Day letter to a loved one.  Students can write their letters to whomever they wish, whether a family member, friend, or even a beloved pet!  

As students are writing, I will check in with them to see how they are doing, reminding everyone to follow the basic template for a letter (heading, greeting, body, closing, and signature). 

At the end of class, students who wish to read their letters to the class are welcome to do so.  Students will leave class with a better understanding of how to write a friendly letter, as well as with a Valentine's Day letter for a loved one!
