Let's have fun while we learn English through speaking, songs, and games! This one-time course will cover basic English toy vocabulary words. Students will view toy-related props and slides while learning how to pronounce the vocabulary words. We will then practice making simple sentences with these words. The focus of this class will be to gain confidence while learning some basic vocabulary. I am very patient and I encourage the students to practice and speak during class (if they would like to). * Students should bring two of their favorite toys for "Show and Tell". Students will show the class their toys and can tell what makes it special and any other details about it. ** No prior English knowledge necessary. **** I also offer other one-time vocabulary classes, an ongoing conversation class, storytime, scavenger hunts and private lessons. Hello, and welcome! I am super excited to offer classes and clubs for a variety of topics!
I love being a teacher! I am patient, enthusiastic, and passionate about making learning fun for every student. All of my classes are inclusive for all children, and are ESL, neurodivergent and autism friendly. I have experience teaching children in all of these groups and of varying ages, learning styles, academic abilities, and English proficiency levels. I look forward to meeting your child in the classroom for an exciting learning adventure!
I have an M.S. in Psychiatric Rehabilitation from the University of Medicine and Dentistry, NJ. I also hold a B.A. in both Psychology and Sociology, with a Criminology Certificate, all from Rutgers University. In addition, I earned a TESOL Certificate.
My teaching specialties include preschool skills, elementary education, ESL- English as a Second Language, life skills, and coping skills. Some of my other interests are video games, board games, travel, Disney, crafts, cooking, and baking.
My employment has always included teaching or counseling. I have taught in a daycare center, a children's developmental center, schools, and a psychiatric day program. I also have 5 years of experience teaching children English online. Educating all of these students has been very rewarding, and I am thrilled to be offering classes on Outschool.
**** To ensure learner privacy, safety, and comfort, which are of the utmost importance, class recordings of social clubs/classes will not be shared.
****TRANSFER POLICY: I am flexible regarding transfers to another section of the same class (if available), but all transfers must be requested at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled class in order to allow another student the opportunity to enroll in your child's spot. Transfers cannot be granted for missed classes, or for requests made within 24 hours of the scheduled class. Transfers are only available for the same exact class, within the same Outschool week, which ends on Sunday.
